The PROBLEM is some important people are too important to READ.  Instead the important Elected or Appointed Officials HIRE COMPUTER WIZ TYPES TO READ THEIR MESSAGES.   THE OIL IS RADIOACTIVE THUS SPECIAL RAD STICKERS OR RADTRIAGE CARDS READABLE DAILY MUST BE ISSUED TO ALL PERSONNEL HIRED PLUS THOSE ON RIGS AND USCG OR MILITARY PLUS CIVILIAN EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAMS AS ONE EMT VEHICLE MUST BE WITH EACH UNIT WORKING IN CASE OF HEART ATTACK, DRIVE BYE SHOOTING OR COLLAPSE FROM ANY REASON LET ALONE INJURY FROM NEEDLES IN THE SAND.

 

SAD BUT TRUE THOSE SAME INDIVIDUALS READING MESSAGES CANNOT COPE WITH THE SUPER NUMBERS OF MESSAGES AND THUS THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE ELECTED OR APPOINTED OFFICIALS AND SEND FORWARD THOUSANDS OF MESSAGES INTO A DELETED BLOCK OF A COMPUTER HARD DRIVE…..NO ONE REALLY GETS THE INFORMATION NOR CAN THE EXPERTS REVIEW WHAT OTHER EXPERTS SUBMIT SO ALL IS LOST.  FORENSIC REVIEW OF THOSE HIRED PEOPLE WILL SHOW THEY SPEND TIME SENDING CANNED MESSAGES WHICH GIVE NO REFERENCES SO PEOPLE GET FRUSTRATED AND DO NOT GIVE ANY MORE INFORMATION…..TRUE !

 

PRIMARY INSTANT EXAMPLE…..THOUSANDS ARE HIRED TO WORK ON BEACHES FILLED WITH VACATION SWIMMERS AND SUNNING THEMSELVES IN SUPER HOT DAYLIGHT ONLY ABLE TO WORK 20 MINUTES THEN THEY HAVE TO HIDE AND REST 40 MINUTES TO GO DOWN THE BEACH ANOTHER 20 MINUTES…..GEE…WHY WORK IN THE HEAT OF DAYLIGHT WHEN YOU CAN WORK AT NIGHT.

 

IMAGINE THE SUGGESTION BEING READ BY AN EXPERT RELATIVE TO LET THE PEOPLE HIRED WORK AT NIGHT WITH NO ONE AROUND THINKING OR SUGGESTING USING 4 WHEELED ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES, SOLAR GENERATORS STORING ELECTRICITY FOR 250 WATT CONTRACTOR BULBS FOR LIGHTING, DRAGGING SMALL WHEELED LARGE TIRE LAWN CARE CARTS HAVING SPECIAL BARRELS AND SUPPLIES PLUS ICE COLD WATER AND PAPER TOWELS COMMUNICATING WITH ALL UNITS FOR 10 MILES OR SO ON 40 CHANNEL CB RADIO’S USING MAGNETIC MOUNT ANTENNA WITH PA SYSTEMS SO THEY CAN WORK AND LISTEN TO THEIR ASSIGNED CHANNEL AND TOPS OF THE VEHICLES HAVE NUMBERS IN CASE SOMEONE DESIRES TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM FROM SHORE OR SEA IF NOT HELICOPTER.

 

NUMBERS PAINTED ON VEHICLES USING REFLECTIVE TAPE FOR EMERGENCY VIEWING PLUS S.P.O.T. GPS EMERGENCY HAND HELD UNITS TO SIGNAL VIA SAT THEIR POSITION IN AN EMERGENCY.  THE MAGNETIC MOUNT ANTENNA WILL ALLOW COMMUNICATIONS 11 MILES OR SO ON A BEACH BUT SOMETIMES IT IS RESTRICTED TO 5 MILES (EXPERT ADVICE FROM KC4NUQ)  3 GUESSES WHO THAT FCC LICENSED PERSON REALLY IS FOLKS !  NOW AN EMERGENCY DEVELOPS AND A SPOT INDICATOR IS USED PLUS THE DRIVER OR SOMEONE ELSE TURNS THE SEARCH LIGHTS STRAIGHT UP INTO THE AIR SIGNALLING WHERE THE HELICOPTER OR RESCUE MEDICA IS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY.  S.P.O.T. CAN BE RESET, LIGHTS CAN BE TURNED BACK ON THE BEACH OR SHIP OR BOAT ….WORKS WELL FOR BOATS WITH NUMBERS ON DECKS AND DOT REFLECTIVE TAPE ON ALL METAL TO KEEP UNIT VISIBLE…..CUTE SOLAR GENERATORS ALLOW ELECTRICITY AT SEA DAYLIGHT AND THOSE CUTE WALGREEN’S SPF 50 UMBRELLA’S ALLOW ALL CREW TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE SUN WORKING DAY AND FOLD UP AT NIGHT.

 

USE OF BOUNCE SHEETS NORMALLY ASSOCIATED WITH DRYING CLOTHES IS TO KEEP THE WINGED CRITTERS AWAY FROM WORKERS DAY OR NIGHT AS THIS IS ATTACHED TO THE CLOTHING USING SIMPLE RUBBER BANDS OR CLIPS USED FOR PAPER. ONE SHEET PER PERSON AND ONE SHEET ON EACH ATV WILL KEEP IT CLEAN OF FLYING NO-SEE-UM’S BUT WHAT DO I KNOW !

 

HELICOPTER CAN RESPOND TO BOATS, SHIPS, BEACH CREWS WORKING AT NIGHT WITH INVERTERS PROVIDING POWER AND SMALL SOLAR GENERATORS AS BACKUP, MORE THAN ONE 250 WATT HOME DEPOT CARRIED CONTRACTOR LIGHT WITH REPLACEMENT BULBS CAN BE ON EACH ATV AND ONE PORTA POTTIE CAN BE DRIVEN ON ANOTHER CART TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO USE THE TOILET WITH LIGHTING PROVIDED BY INVERTER, SOLAR GENERATOR OR MY FAVORITE THE SNAP LIGHT 12 HOUR LIGHT.   TELL WHAT WE USE FOR HURRICANE PROTECTION IN THE ATTIC SPACE ?  HELICOPTER CAN FIND THE WORK OR EMERGENCY LOCATION QUICKLY WITH GPS IF ONE UNIT IS ASKED TO TURN ON THE S.P.O.T.  PLUS IMAGINE HOW NEAT THOSE CB RADIO’S WITH PA SPEAKERS COULD IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY ALL WORKERS TO EVACUATE TO A PICKUP POINT IN A SUPER RAIN STORM APPROACH OR GOD FORBID A CLOUD OF DEADLY GAS COMING UP AT SEA WAFTING TOWARD THEM AS THE SHIPS WOULD HAVE CB CONTACT USING TALL CB ANTENNA STRAPPED TO A MAST GIVING 20 MILES OR MORE PERHAPS CONTACT ON SPECIFIC CHANNELS.  I CAN EASILY GRID OFF HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLORIDA WITH 400 CB RADIO’S USING MAGNETIC MOUNT ANTENNA AND PA SPEAKERS WITH SPECIAL HAND HELD RECORDERS PLAYING EVACUATION MESSAGES OVER SPEAKERS GOING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD DAY OR NIGHT…..HINT HINT SHERIFF DAVID GEE !  TRY IT.  EX-HCSO SWORN DEPUTY RALPH CHARLES WHITLEY, SR. PROBLEM OF DECONTAMINATION OF VEHICLES, BODIES OF HUMANS WITH SPECIAL CLOTHING COLLECTED AND DEALT WITH SEALING IN SPECIAL MARKED 55 GALLON DRUMS ALONG WITH THE SAND AND TAR/OIL HAS VERY DISTINCT FEDERAL AND STATE LAW REQUIREMENTS WITH NOTHING DROPPED ON THE BEACH INVOLVING CLOTHING, BOOTS, BOOTIES, GLOVES OR MASKS.  WATER WASHDOWN OF ANY HUMAN MUST BE COLLECTED AND ODD AS IT MAY SEEM….YOU CAN WASH YOUR BODY OFF WITH SALT WATER USING SPECIAL SOAPS BUT THAT WATER MUST BE COLLECTED AND TREATED AS NUCLEAR WASTE WATER .

 

BIRDS AND OTHER ANIMALS CLEANED AT BEACHES OR ANIMAL RESCUE AREAS MUST HAVE SPECIAL COLLECTORS FOR OIL AND WATER SEPARATORS TO USE RATHER THAN PUT THE RINSED OFF OIL INTO THE SAND AS THIS OIL IS RADIO ACTIVE.

PULL BOP, gas and oil coming through a 7 inch…….SEVEN INCH circular pipe into a riser casing to 36 inches.  ALL PRESSURE WILL BE RELEASED and one can drop down a FRICTION PLUG into the proper space of thirteen and five eights rounded perhaps 200 feet long solid steel, seal the leak casing at the space below the annulas and then pull out the Crane wire and seal with solid concrete made with Fresh Water ONLY….easy fix.    Instead the same people who blew out IXTOC 1 in 1979 are using other techniques like two drill holes approaching the casing perhaps 1,000 feet below surface….leak may be just above annulas shown in the pictures. So you have to go down further.

 

Mary Poppins with her steel umbrella could have perhaps opened it in the ocean of oil and sealed the inlet being it is only 7 inches diameter or roughly two fists across.

 

Target is 13, 145 feet deep in the 18,360 foot well casing.  WHO AUTHORIZED 18,360 DRILL in the GULF ?

WHERE IS THE FIRST DRILL WHICH FAILED and what did they do…just pull out and move over or is it the other leak?

 

Can you say…..REMOVE BOP INSERT FRICTION PLUG ??????? PULL OUT CRANE WIRE AND CEMENT IN QUICKLY

Remember on Gulf bottom to use 30,000 POUNDS of weights above the pressure plug and be darned sure to

TAPER a super washer some 25 inches thick to seal the top of the riser male connector PLUS be sure to have

A SLEEVE PIPE to be perhaps 2 feet long to act as a SECOND SEAL when the Counter Pressure Plug is inserted with

That much weight it does not split the male connection but seals against the SLEEVE THICK WALL PIPE which just

Barely goes over the male pipe connecting to the bottom of the BOP normally.  SECOND SEAL ! Then pour concrete

OVER SEAL AND COMPRESSION PLUG PLUS WEIGHT AREA MAY BE 8 FOOT ACROSS SO INSERT SOLID STEEL RODS

INTO SEA BED AND POUR WITH CONCRETE CAP WHICH WILL GO UNDERNEATH AND COATED……COATED STEEL RODS

WILL BE IN L SHAPE WITH SUPER NUTS ON TOP WITH SUPER WASHERS ON TOP ALLOWING CEMENT TO ADD TO WEIGHT

HOLD IN PLACE !     FROM AN OLD MESSENGER !

 

KEEP IN MIND COLONEL DOLITTLE KNEW HE COULD TAKE B-17’S TO A CARRIER AND STRIKE JAPAN…..NO ONE EVER DID SUCH IN THE HISTORY OF WARFARE OR TRAINING…..PRESIDENT LISTENED AND GAVE THE AUTHORIZATION FOR THIS INSANE IDEA WHICH WORKED PERFECTLY.

PRESIDENT ?  I CANNOT EVEN GET THE MESSAGE ON USING EVENING AND OVERNIGHT CLEANUP OF BEACHES OUT TO THE ‘EXPERTS’ WHO STILL HAVE NOT REVIEWED THE ABOVE SOLUTION TAKING OFF THE EXISTING BOP WITH THE BRANKO R. BABIC FRICTION PLUG READY AND WATING ON ANOTHER CRANE TO BE LOWERED OVER THE 36 INCH RISER STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE TARGET AREA…RELEASE OF THE WIRE ROPE SPOOL AS YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE WIRE IN THE HOLE TO SEAL NOR SIMPLY DROP IT FROM THE SURFACE BUT MAYBE YOU COULD PLACE IT ON THE GULF BOTTOM READY WHILE YOU PULL THE BOP OFF THE CASING THEN MOVE THE BOP OVER AND PUT INTO THE CASING THE FRICTION PLUG LOWERING DOWN SAME THEN IF THE ROV DIAMOND SAW IS THERE AND THE WIRE ON A LARGE ‘O’ RING OR HOLE BORED THROUGH THE FRICTION PLUG TOP YOU CAN RELEASE THE WIRE AND PULL IT OUT ON THE MACHINED CURVED RELEASE POINT PULLING ALL OF THE WIRE FREE BUT BEING SUPER READY TO POUR FRESH WATER SUPER THICK CEMENT INTO THE CASING USING SPECIAL PIPES DELIVERING SAME DOWN 13,000 FEET OR SO IN A MATTER OF DAYS BUT SEALING THE CASING SAVING THE GULF AND FLORIDA.

 

GET THIS TO THE PRESIDENT, GOVERNORS AND ALL USCG DECISION MAKERS ESPECIALLY ADMIRAL THAD ALLEN USCG. NOW !

It was necessary to attempt to find WHO made the 2001 Cameron Blow Off Preventer Flanges and someone mentioned the unit may have been manufactured in China.  Surely someone made the Flange and China seems the best option if BP would not replace the BOP or seal the well rather than  spending $20 BILLION DOLLARS plus the $750 MILLION already spent failing to stop a simple leak or runaway BOP designed to be PULLED OFF THE MOUNTING SECTION AND REPLACED OR CASING SEALED DEEP WITH A FRICTION PLUG FROM THE SURFACE.   All guaranteed to work in hours if not days….now we have wasted over 60 days and the oil spill grown plus it is RADIOACTIVE presenting more problems.

 

I have been supporting a theory that with a new BOP Top Flange it is possible to shut down the super dangerous Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico from Deepwater Horizon. Should the CASING section be also damaged then the only option is FRICTION PLUG THEN SEAL WITH CONCRETE MIXED WITH FRESH WATER ONLY FROM SUPER BARGES AS THE PRESSURE WILL BE ZERO ONCE FRICTION PLUG INSERTED AND SEALING MACHINED ROUND SECTION TRAPPED IN SPECIFIC THIRTEEN AND FIVE EIGHTS CASING INTERIOR USING 200 FOOT FRICTION PLUG SUPER HEAVY TO STOP LEAK THEN FILLING ALL REMAINING CASING 13,375 FEET PERHAPS WITH SUPER HEAVY CONCRETE/FRESH WATER MIX FORCING ALL OIL AND GAS TO THE GULF FLOOR THEN ABILITY TO ADD A BRANKO R. BABIC COUNTER PRESSURE PLUG AND SEAL THAT WITH CONCRETE USING ANY SPECIAL 10 FOOT ROUND X 10 FOOT TALL CYLINDER PLACED OVER THE TOP COUNTER PRESSURE PLUG AND AGAIN POUR MADE WITH CONCRETE SEALING SAME WITH ADDITIONAL PRESSURE AND WEIGHTS CAN BE 30,000 PSI PLUS CONCRETE SEAL WEIGHT ON BOTTOM OF GULF.

 

People FORGET the casing size into the oil is only 7 inches thus the flow is restricted opening up to 36 inches top casing. Once BOP is removed, ROV with pressure washer nozzle fan model can keep oil from blocking vision to insert the friction plug hovering just off the bottom to the left of the BOP fall area away from the BOP while a crane lifts the BOP OFF the male connector exposing the connection which would allow a second BOP to be placed down on same as the second BOP would be delivered near the scene and it does not have to be 8 stories tall and super heavy to verify shutting off well is possible.  Should under sea fissures start flowing OIL and GAS once the NEW BOP is in place, simply remove the BOP, insert the friction plug and be ready to start the mixing of super cement like hydraulic forced into the casing sealing the 13,000 feet of casing then seal the top of casing with a Counter Pressure Plug with weights and pour a 10 foot round wall of concrete on the Gulf Sea Bed stopping the leak immediately.

 

Tried to get the CEO from Cameron to advise if HE had the measurements but to no avail.  All of my files and suggestions are up at http://www.scribd.com/ralphwhitleysr  for your review.  Ruth Rogers at Cameron said she would forward my request to the CEO of Cameron but we have heard nothing in return.  Sadly we do not think the BOP manufacturer has a bad product as there must be 7 ways to shut it down manually but my concern is the installation of hydraulic lines without check valves when a tragedy strikes disconnecting critical lines created a super problem without pressurized Hydraulic Oil Lines to allow a ROV to shut down the BOP with a spin of a manual control in a specific direction.  

 

For your information and to relay to the Government of China:  It would appear the Gulf Oil is Radioactive so we have asked for immediate Radiac Monitor Testing of all of the 4,000 or so units in the Gulf of Mexico drawing Oil to make sure the OIL IS NOT RADIOACTIVE plus this verification may indeed involve all rigs on shore or at sea drawing Oil from deep wells.  My concerns and methods to work at shutting down the runaway well using an invention given free by Branko R. Babic from Oxford England has been basically ignored or rejected since 042310 and the well is still not shut down or under control.   A special machined super thick section of steel sitting over the flange to the BOP sealing on the 2 or 3 inches of machined space with sufficient weights, flow through pipe, 15,000 PSI gate valve, super thick riser pipe and flange mating up with flotation controlled riser pipe to the surface via shutoff’s protecting connection at 5,000 feet depth and within 400 feet of surface draw area would solve the leak stopping same fully.

 

The other OPTION was to remove the BOP, replacing same with another which would allow new hydraulic lines with CHECK VALVES keeping hydraulic fluid in same for use drawing OIL but in my opinion it is foolish to have an 8 story BOP sitting on a 36 inch casing upright on the bottom of ANY BODY OF WATER when it should be lying on it’s back supported by special thick coated “I” Beams of super thick and wide steel across the back section supporting the super heavy object on the ocean floor then attaching special tee with shutoffs on all ports and flow through to the surface blanked off with a super thick coated flange to stop deterioration in the salt water yet allow hooking up cement, mud or other lines or OPENING fully flow into the casing to use the Branko R. Babic FRICTIION PLUG to stop the well forever and seal same.   NEW BOP LYING DOWN ON BACK ON THE I-BEAMS WITH TEE HAVING SHUTOFFS THEN TOP OF BOP HAVING 90 DEGREE ELL WITH SHUTOFF AND FLANGE TO SURFACE WOULD ALLOW REMOVAL OF BOP IN FUTURE BY SIMPLY CUTTING OFF THE SHUTOFF VALVES HORIZONTAL IN THE TEE TO BOTTOM OF BOP, CUTTING OFF THE 90 DEGREE ELL AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE RISER SHUTOFF ON THE 90 DEGREE ELL ALLOWING REMOVAL OF BOP AND REPLACEMENT IF DESIRED.

 

I am still convinced that the major problem is the multiple rig units have hydraulic lines to BOP without check valves so any emergency or cutting of a line will put all hydraulic fluid into the sea. Right now the BOP for Deepwater Horizon reportedly is TILTING OVER 11 DEGREES and may fall over with damage to the casing male which attaches to the bottom of the BOP sitting on top of same.  11 degree tilt indicates to this old Contractor Specialist that the male section could be bent or the casing section compromised thus the Branko R. Babic FRICTION PLUG IS THE ONLY HOPE THIS NATION AND THE WORLD HAS TO SOLVE THE LEAK.  If the casing is fractured or disturbed below the surface of the casing exit to the Gulf Sea Bottom then the only option is sealing the well forever and re-thinking what steel casing protection must be in place for all future drilling in Salt Water which eventually will punch holes from the outside through into the flow of oil, gas, sand and water causing a blow out later.

 

MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF POSSIBLY RADIOACTIVE OIL are flowing into the Gulf and going to attack Florida Beaches and Inlets shortly.  Cleanup attempts using humans in super heat daylight hours is STUPID when those same people should only be working Sunset to Sunrise thus the tourists and residents will be off the beach and with cool temperatures of perhaps 70 degrees F. the protective clothing workers can work all night long, perhaps 11 hours on cleanup of beaches then sleep during the day.  Critical here or in China is the ability to communicate and we recommended the 40 channel CB radio with magnetic mount antennae, PA Speaker for listening on channel while working two person teams using ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES pulling trailers with 55 gallon drums sealable top for collecting sand and oil or dirt contamination sections.   Use of SOLAR GENERATORS and 250 WATT contractor lights used on roadway construction PLUS portable toilet for men or women to use at will, numbering each vehicle with minimum 10 inch reflective tape numbers for emergency identification plus assigning beach cleanup crews specific CB channels plus supervisor having S.P.O.T. GPS signaling for SAT systems use PLUS portable decontamination trailer allowing removal of throw away clothing and also allowing workers to shower then put on their own clothing before retiring for sleep after eating would allow EVERYONE TO WORK EFFICIENTLY AND FAST rather than fighting exhaustion from heat or sunlight reportedly only allowing workers to stay in the heat 20 minutes of each hour which would take two years to clean up a beach perhaps.

 

Experts reportedly REVIEW all suggestions and send messages that the idea cannot work or has been considered and another person has come up with the idea which will not work….etc.

 

Should this NATIONAL DISASTER NOT GET SEALED --- BUY STOCK IN BOTTLED WATER as all DESALINATION PLANTS on ships, submarines, Islands and Florida will be SHUT DOWN and those people cleaning BIRDS or FISH, ANIMALS contaminated with the OIL better have special OIL WATER SEPARATORS WORLDWIDE as this radioactive OIL will end life on this Planet as we know it then spread slowly across the PLANET ON SEAS into every back yard beach.

More than 12 months ago some geologists rang the warning bell that the Deepwater Horizon exploratory rig might have been erected directly over a huge underground reservoir of methane.

Disturbing evidence is mounting that something frightening is happening deep under the waters of the Gulf of Mexico—something far worse than the BP oil gusher.

Warnings were raised as long as a year before the Deepwater Horizon disaster that the area of seabed chosen by the BP geologists might be unstable, or worse, inherently dangerous.

What makes the location that Transocean chose potentially far riskier than other potential oil deposits located at other regions of the Gulf? It can be summed up with two words: methane gas.

The same methane that makes coal mining operations hazardous and leads to horrendous mining accidents deep under the earth also can present a high level of danger to certain oil exploration ventures.

Location of Deepwater Horizon oil rig was criticized

More than 12 months ago some geologists rang the warning bell that the Deepwater Horizon exploratory rig might have been erected directly over a huge underground reservoir of methane.

Documents from several years ago indicate that the subterranean geologic formation may contain the presence of a huge methane deposit.

None other than the engineer who helped lead the team to snuff the Gulf oil fires set by Saddam Hussein to slow the advance of American troops has stated that a huge underground lake of methane gas—compressed by a pressure of 100,000 pounds per square inch (psi)—could be released by BP's drilling effort to obtain the oil deposit. 

Current engineering technology cannot contain gas that is pressurized to 100,000 psi.

By some geologists' estimates the methane could be a massive 15 to 20 mile toxic and explosive bubble trapped for eons under the Gulf sea floor. In their opinion, the explosive destruction of the Deepwater Horizon wellhead was an accident just waiting to happen.

Yet the disaster that followed the loss of the rig pales by comparison to the apocalyptic disaster that may come.

A cascading catastrophe

According to worried geologists, the first signs that the methane may burst its way through the bottom of the ocean would be fissures or cracks appearing on the ocean floor near the damaged well head.

Evidence of fissures opening up on the seabed have been captured by the robotic submersibles working to repair and contain the ruptured well. Smaller, independent plumes have also appeared outside the nearby radius of the bore hole itself.

According to some geological experts, BP's operations set into motion a series of events that may be irreversible. Step-by-step the drilling team committed one error after another.

Congressmen Henry Waxman, D-CA, and Bart Stupak, D-MI, in a letter sent to BP CEO Tony Hayward, identified 5 missteps made by BP during the period culminating with the explosion.

Waxman, chair of the Congressional energy panel and Stupak, the head of the subcommittee on oversight and investigations, said, "The common feature of these five decisions is that they posed a trade-off between cost and well safety." 

The two Representatives also stated in the 14-page letter to Hayward that "Time after time, it appears that BP made decisions that increased the risk of a blowout to save the company time or expense."

Called by some insiders investigating the ongoing disaster a "perfect storm of catastrophe," the wellhead blew on the sea floor catapulting a stream of mud, oil and gas upwards at the speed of sound.

In describing the events—that transpired in a matter of seconds—they note that immediately following the rupture the borehole pipe's casing blew away exposing a straight line 8 miles deep for the pressurized gas to escape. The result was cavitation, an irregular pressure variance sometimes experience by deep diving vessels such as nuclear submarines. This cavitation created a supersonic bubble of explosive methane gas that resulted in a supersonic explosion killing 11 men and completely annihilating the drilling platform. 

Death from the depths

With the emerging evidence of fissures, the quiet fear now is the methane bubble rupturing the seabed and exploding into the Gulf waters. If the bubble escapes, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will instantaneously sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists measuring the oil plumes' advance will instantly perish. 

As horrible as that is, what would follow is an event so potentially horrific that it equals in its fury the Indonesian tsunami that killed more than 600,000, or the destruction of Pompeii by Mt. Vesuvius.

The ultimate Gulf disaster, however, would make even those historical horrors pale by comparison. If the huge methane bubble breaches the seabed, it will erupt with an explosive fury similar to that experienced during the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens in the Pacific Northwest. A gas gusher will surge upwards through miles of ancient sedimentary rock—layer after layer—past the oil reservoir. It will explode upwards propelled by 50 tons psi, burst through the cracks and fissures of he compromised sea floor, and rupture miles of ocean bottom with one titanic explosion.

The burgeoning methane gas cloud will surface, killing everything it touches, and set off a supersonic tsunami with the wave traveling somewhere between 400 to 600 miles per hour.

While the entire Gulf coastline is vulnerable, the state most exposed to the fury of a supersonic wave towering 100 feet or more is Florida. The Sunshine State only averages about 6 inches above sea level. A supersonic tsunami would literally sweep away everything from Miami to the panhandle in a matter of minutes. Loss of human life would be virtually instantaneous and measured in the millions. Of course the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and southern region of Georgia—a state with no Gulf coastline—would also experience tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of casualties.

Loss of property is virtually incalculable and the days of the US position as the world's superpower would be literally gone in a flash...of detonating methane.

How the ultimate BP Gulf disaster could kill millions


Disturbing evidence is mounting that something frightening is happening deep under the waters of the Gulf of Mexico -- something far worse than the BP oil gusher.

Warnings were raised as long as a year before the Deepwater Horizondisaster that the area of seabed chosen by the BP geologists might be unstable, or worse, inherently dangerous.

What makes the location that Transocean chose potentially far riskier than other potential oil deposits located at other regions of the Gulf? It can be summed up with two words: methane gas.

The same methane that makes coal mining operations hazardous and leads to horrendous mining accidents deep under the earth also can present a high level of danger to certain oil exploration ventures.

 

Location of Deepwater Horizon oil rig was criticized

More than 12 months ago some geologists rang the warning bell that the Deepwater Horizon exploratory rig might have been erected directly over a huge underground reservoir of methane.

Documents from several years ago indicate that the subterranean geologic formation may contain the presence of a huge methane deposit.

None other than the engineer who helped lead the team to snuff the Gulf oil fires set by Saddam Hussein to slow the advance of American troops has stated that a huge underground lake of methane gas -- compressed by a pressure of 100,000 pounds per square inch (psi) -- could be released by BP's drilling effort to obtain the oil deposit. 

Current engineering technology cannot contain gas that is pressurized to 100,000 psi.

By some geologists' estimates the methane could be a massive 15 to 20 mile toxic and explosive bubble trapped for eons under the Gulf sea floor. In their opinion, the explosive destruction of the Deepwater Horizon wellhead was an accident just waiting to happen.

Yet the disaster that followed the loss of the rig pales by comparison to the apocalyptic disaster that may come.


A cascading catastrophe

According to worried geologists, the first signs that the methane may burst its way through the bottom of the ocean would be fissures or cracks appearing on the ocean floor near the damaged well head.

Evidence of fissures opening up on the seabed have been captured by the robotic submersibles working to repair and contain the ruptured well. Smaller, independent plumes have also appeared outside the nearby radius of the bore hole itself.

According to some geological experts, BP's operations set into motion a series of events that may be irreversible. Step-by-step the drilling team committed one error after another.

Congressmen Henry Waxman, D-CA, and Bart Stupak, D-MI, in a letter sent to BP CEO Tony Hayward, identified 5 missteps made by BP during the period culminating with the explosion.

Waxman, chair of the Congressional energy panel and Stupak, the head of the subcommittee on oversight and investigations, said, "The common feature of these five decisions is that they posed a trade-off between cost and well safety."

The two Representatives also stated in the 14-page letter to Hayward that "Time after time, it appears that BP made decisions that increased the risk of a blowout to save the company time or expense."

Called by some insiders investigating the ongoing disaster a "perfect storm of catastrophe," the wellhead blew on the sea floor catapulting a stream of mud, oil and gas upwards at the speed of sound.

In describing the events -- that transpired in a matter of seconds -- they note that immediately following the rupture the borehole pipe's casing blew away exposing a straight line 8 miles deep for the pressurized gas to escape. The result was cavitation, an irregular pressure variance sometimes experience by deep diving vessels such as nuclear submarines. This cavitation created a supersonic bubble of explosive methane gas that resulted in a supersonic explosion killing 11 men and completely annihilating the drilling platform.


Death from the depths

With the emerging evidence of fissures, the quiet fear now is the methane bubble rupturing the seabed and exploding into the Gulf waters. If the bubble escapes, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will instantaneously sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists measuring the oil plumes' advance will instantly perish. 

As horrible as that is, what would follow is an event so potentially horrific that it equals in its fury the Indonesian tsunami that killed more than 600,000, or the destruction of Pompeii by Mt. Vesuvius.

The ultimate Gulf disaster, however, would make even those historical horrors pale by comparison. If the huge methane bubble breaches the seabed, it will erupt with an explosive fury similar to that experienced during the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens in the Pacific Northwest. A gas gusher will surge upwards through miles of ancient sedimentary rock -- layer after layer -- past the oil reservoir. It will explode upwards propelled by 50 tons psi, burst through the cracks and fissures of the compromised sea floor, and rupture miles of ocean bottom with one titanic explosion.

The burgeoning methane gas cloud will surface, killing everything it touches, and set off a supersonic tsunami with the wave traveling somewhere between 400 to 600 miles per hour.

The continuing oil spill from the Deepwater Horizon is causing enormous economic and ecological damage. Estimates of the size and duration continue to escalate, but it is now the largest in U.S. history and clearly among the largest oil spills on record.1

As efforts to plug the leak and clean up the damages continue, it is not too soon to begin to draw lessons from this disaster. We need to learn from this experience so we can prevent future oil spills, reevaluate society’s current trajectory, and set a better course.

One major lesson is that our natural capital assets and other public goods are far too valuable to continue to put them at such high risk from private interests. We need better (not necessarily more) regulation and strong incentives to protect these assets against actions that put them at risk. While the Obama administration’s demand for a trust fund to compensate injured parties is appropriate, it arrived only after the fact. Common asset trusts and new financial instruments like assurance bonds would be better able to shift risk incentives and prevent disasters like the Deepwater Horizon.

The Costs: Damages to Natural Capital Assets

The spill has directly and indirectly affected at least 20 categories of valuable ecosystem services in and around the Gulf of Mexico. The $2.5 billion per year Louisiana commercial fishery has been almost completely shut down. As the oil extends to popular Gulf Coast beaches, the loss of tourism revenue will also be enormous. In addition, the spill has damaged several important natural capital assets whose value in supporting human well-being is both huge and largely outside the market system. These non-marketed ecosystem services include climate regulation via the sequestration of carbon by coastal marshes and open water systems, hurricane protection by coastal wetlands,2 and cultural, recreational, and aesthetic values. Since the time of the Exxon Valdez spill, we have developed better techniques to estimate the value of the damage to these public assets.

A recently released study estimated the total value of these ecosystem services for the Mississippi River Delta to be in the range of $12-47 billion per year.3 Based on the flow of these services into the future, the value of the Delta as a natural asset was estimated to be in the range of $330 billion to $1.3 trillion, far more than the total market value of BP ($189 billion) before the spill. Unlike BP, ecosystem service values are outside the market. They continue to produce benefits unless an action like the spill damages them.

The value of the loss of these ecosystem services for the entire Gulf will always be difficult to estimate with any precision. In addition to the Mississippi Delta, the spill will also probably affect a large fraction of the Gulf’s open water systems and the coasts of all of the states and nations bordering the Gulf: Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and perhaps even Mexico and Cuba. Once the spill has been stopped and the extent of the damages assessed, we will have a better idea of these costs. In the meantime, the best we can do is to try to put the expected magnitude of the damages in rough perspective.

If we assume that the Mississippi River Delta will be the most affected region and that there will be a 10 to 50 percent reduction in the ecosystem services provided by the Delta, this amounts to a loss of $1.2 – $23.5 billion per year into the indefinite future until ecological recovery, or $34 – $670 billion in present value (at a 3.5 percent discount rate).

Dealing with Risk

Our current approach to dealing with the risk of private interests damaging public environmental assets is to assign liability to the private interests, but with the burden of proof on the public. The public must demonstrate damages after the fact, claim compensation, endure a lengthy judicial process, and finally hope to recover just reparations. In addition, the total liability is often limited. For example, in the U.S., the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 limits the liability for oil spills to $75 million,4 and the Price-Anderson Act limits the liability for nuclear power plant accidents to $10 billion. The Exxon Valdez oil spill resulted in an estimated $3.4 billion in fines, compensation, and cleanup costs, and a court settlement of $2.5 billion in punitive damages that took decades of lawsuits after the incident and was ultimately reduced by the Supreme Court to $500 million in 2008.5

In many other parts of society, we require private interests to buy insurance to deal with the risks they impose on the public. For example, purchasing automobile insurance is now mandatory, and assurance bonds are often required from building contractors. Requiring assurance bonds or insurance forces private interests to internalize the risk of their activities before any damages occur. It gives them strong financial incentives to reduce risk, since it is their own money that they stand to lose.

The Deepwater Horizon incident, like the banking crisis, resulted from inadequate attention to the risks that the public was left to bear. Precautionary measures were known but not taken. Investments in safety devices (like the acoustic blowout preventer) were not made. Corners were cut. Short-term private profits motivated taking high risks with public assets.

The fundamental problem is that while private interests are ultimately liable for damages to public assets, they are only held accountable long after the fact and only partially. This gives private interests strong incentives to take large risks with public assets—far larger than they should from society’s point of view.

If society does not change investment incentives, private interests will continue to devote vast sums of capital to pursue increasingly risky oil reserves (or financial products) that provide less net energy and maintain our oil addiction—an addiction which simply cannot be physically sustained.

The Solutions

The long-term solutions to these problems require fundamental changes to business-as-usual practices, including:

  1. Assessment and incorporation of the full value of public natural capital assets into both corporate and public accounting and decision-making, as President Obama recommended.
  2. Assessment of the risks and worst-case damages that could result from accidents, based on damages to this more broadly assessed value.
  3. Application of the best science available about the complex linkages between human systems and the rest of nature.
  4. Reversal of the burden of proof and requirement of corporations and other private interests to internalize and monetize their risks to public goods. One way to monetize these risks would be to require private interests to post an “assurance bond” large enough to cover the worst-case damages.6-8 Portions of the bond (plus interest) would be returned if and when the private interests could demonstrate that the suspected worst-case damages had not occurred or would be less than was originally assessed. If damages did occur, portions of the bond would be used to rehabilitate or repair the environment and to compensate injured parties. The critical feature is that the risk to the public asset is apparent to the private interests in financial terms before the fact, not as a liability that may or may not be enforced after the damage occurs.
  5. Finally, it is high time government policy realigned investment incentives for both public and private investment away from greater oil dependency and toward renewable domestic energy sources. Environmental bonding is a good start.

Imagine how this system might have worked had it been in place prior to the Deepwater Horizon incident. What actually occurred is pretty close to the “worst-case” scenario that might have been envisioned before the fact. Our best guess of the potential damages would thus be in the range of $34-$270 billion, as discussed above. Let’s say that a scientific review panel, after assessing the risk in more detail, settled on an estimate of $50 billion. This immediately makes it very apparent to BP and others drilling in deep water in the Gulf of Mexico that they are engaged in a very risky business—several orders of magnitude riskier than the $50 million liability limit previously in force. The size of this bond, for one deepwater well, would be close to one quarter of the total value of the company! What could they do? Either not drill at all or find ways to reduce the size of the risk and the bond. They might be able to do this very cost-effectively if they spent some money on risk-reduction procedures or technology, such as the acoustic blowout preventer costing a mere $500,000. These measures might convince the scientific review panel to change their assessment of the worst-case scenario and reduce the bond. There would be very strong economic incentives for BP to find creative ways to reduce the risks (just what we want them to do!) rather than ignoring the risks and cutting corners.

How could such a system be implemented? A public agency would need to be appointed as “trustee” for the natural capital assets at risk. This could be a branch of an existing government agency or it could be a new quasi-governmental organization (QGO) or non-governmental organization (NGO) set up as an independent “common asset trust.” In any case, the mission of the agency would be explicitly to “protect the asset” rather than facilitating its exploitation, and it would have the authority to charge fees for damages to the asset and require posting bonds to cover potential damages.9-11

This change in approach to risk should be extended to several other private activities that put the public interest at risk. Nuclear power should be required to be fully insured. Repealing the Price-Anderson Act that currently limits liability and requiring bonds to adequately cover accidents and future waste disposal costs would accomplish this. It would reveal that nuclear power is extremely expensive. The banking crisis would never have occurred if the banks had been required to internalize their risks rather than literally “banking on them.” We need to reassert the public-goods nature of money and put control of the money supply back in the hands of the government rather than the private banks, which currently create most of the money supply by issuing loans on fractional reserves.12 Recapturing “seigniorage,” the government’s right to control the money supply, could enable a dramatic reduction in taxes.

The Deepwater Horizon incident offers a strong lesson in risk management. Our entire society is taking far too many risks with public assets whose real value we are only now beginning to recognize. By shifting the financial burden of those risks onto the private interests who benefit from them, we can establish the right incentives, shift investment to less risky, more productive pursuits, and create a more sustainable and desirable future.

The following is the proposed technical and governmental approached(s) to immediately addressing the Gulf Oil Spill since BP cannot stop the well with a “Top Kill” approach by forcing mud and cement into the well to stop the flow. The secondary tap directly into the underground (beneath the sea floor) pipe-casing that is directing the high pressure oil and gas from the reservoir into the damaged BP (Blow-Out) Preventer to redirect the oil into a new pipe casing could be used to install an explosive (i.e. nuclear charge at 18000 ft – technique claimed by Matt Simmons to have been used by the Russians to stop massive underwater oil well blowouts) to break the high pressure pipeline feeding the oil and gas to the surface since the BP “Top Kill” does not work.

Matt Simmons (Who wrote the 2005 book on oil called “Twilight In The Desert” and Chairman Emeritus of Houston based Simmons & Company) is saying there is a strong possibility based on the results of an underwater vehicle commissioned by NOAA that the main wellhead is five to seven miles from the current BOP which was probably pulled off the wellhead by the sinking of the drilling Rig. It is estimated that the real wellhead is discharging in excess of 120,000 bbls of oil per day. BP should have filed an environmental impact statement with MMS which supposedly shows that even of a wellhead blow-out of 165,000 bbls per day should not show any oil reaching the Louisiana coastline.

A large underwater plume (22 miles long?) has been found 75 miles west (!?) of the current BOP location. This would be consistent that the wellhead is the primary source of a massive oil well blowout and somebody in this Government must know this information. It would not have been economical for BP to develop this well unless the flow exceeded 60,000 bbls per day. Matt Simmons is saying this second fissure is releasing an oil plume the size of Delaware and Maryland combined.

New video suggest additional fracturing of the seabed floor may have occurred (resulting in new gas/oil vents forming outside the area of the BOP on the sea floor (Video seen on Sunday night of May 23, 2010 of some type of explosion event near the robotic cam). If new vent (approx 12-inch in diameter) has formed perhaps none of the current approaches by BP are going to work including junk shots or heavy mud operations (called “Top Kill”). It is no longer clear that due to the fractured nature of this reservoir near the seabed surface that anything can any longer completely stop the oil and gas flows in the next six months.

A. Immediately Reduce the High Pressure Oil and Gas Flow from the Reservoir into the Gulf (Detonate either large conventional or small nuclear device deep down-hole against the real location of the massive oil leak.

BP needs to be told to get out immediately and the US Government needs to take over the entire operation with US military. The US Navy needs to contact the Russian experts to draw up contingency plans to detonate a small nuclear device within the reservoir to stop this massive leak. The US Navy needs to locate the real source of the massive oil leak – start checking five to seven miles west of current BOP location. Experts at Sandia Labs can support this effort with nuclear blast codes given BP’s data on the reservoir.

After BP drills the deep secondary hole(s) to the undersea pipeline (and if BP is unsuccessful in tapping into the old pipe with a secondary pipeline) then either a conventional C4 (plastic explosive package) or small nuclear weapon should be deployed down-hole against the underground pipe (as far under he seabed as possible) to stop the high pressure oil/gas flow – we are out of alternatives. The Navy has the prerequisite personnel trained in setting the charges. The proposed explosive charge is large enough to blow the high pressure oil line pipe apart locally without causing further major fracturing of the reservoir relieving most of the high pressure into the current (damaged) Blowout Preventer. We routinely tested these size charges against various steel plates at the Explosive Test Range at Tyndall AFB, FL and they are very effective in fracturing steel. It may also be possible to use thermite charges to cut right thru the steel pipeline that is beneath the sea bed.

Additional fracturing of the reservoir maybe necessary to relieve wellhead pressures by horizontal drilling of the reservoir but this would require 3-D seismic surveys (and super computer model of reservoir) to suggest the best technical approach as well as Navy underwater demolition experts. A significant number of drilling rigs may be needed to be mobilized right now to start drilling into this reservoir to relieve the pressure. This requires an expert panel of drilling experts (contact API – American Petroleum Institute) as well as experts from oil companies to immediately develop a 3-D model of the reservoir which has been drilled by BP using BP’s proprietary data and any other well log data. This model needs to be transmitted to Sandia Labs to estimate effect of the detonation of small nuclear weapon.

This is no longer a question of whether BP (or any oil company) is going to recover any oil from this reservoir. The massive oil and gas flows must be immediately reduced or totally mitigated immediately

B. Massive Mobilization and Immediate Mitigation of Gulf Oil Spill by Fleet of Super Tankers with Massive Oil/Water Separators Installed to Sweep/Separate Oil Spill (contact Aramco Experts) – Prime Approach

It is suggested a group of experts be assembled (contact former CEO of Shell Oil Company (Mr John Hoffmeister) as a consultant), who has suggested this approach which was used by Saudi Aramco to clean a massive oil spill (not reported in the media) years ago. The technology exists for large oily water separators and the super fleet of oil tankers needs to be immediately mobilized from worldwide resources with the proper equipments installed to start cleaning the Gulf of Mexico. This requires the immediate authorization of Congress of probably $100 Billion to immediately procure the fleet of super tankers and ancillary equipment and start the clean-up. It requires massive logistical planning and execution which should be outside the immediate scope of FEMA and Homeland Security and report directly to/funded by the perquisite Congressional Committee.

The immediate need is now beyond urgent. This Government is way behind the clean-up/mitigation curve with its underwhelming response and recognition of how huge this spill has become and the extensive damage that is going to occur for decades to come to the coastlines of the US. Mobilizing a “fleet of shrimp boats” and burning some pools of oil for the media to see by BP is a pathetic approach to the magnitude of the crisis which is unfolding and totally unacceptable to the American Public. The flow out of this well may well exceed 20,000 barrels per day (and 70% maybe underwater in plumes). In fact, estimates by some college professors suggest this flow could be in excess of 50,000 barrels of oil per day.

C. Massive Tracking of Underwater Gas/Oil Plumes by Navy Submarines and Reporting of Location of All Underwater Plumes to Appropriate State Environmental Authorities.

Due to the depth of this blown-out well and the fact that large amount of methane gas is escaping (which can cause 3000 times the damage of the oil spill in depleting oxygen layers in the Gulf) into plumes (one reported ten miles long and three miles wide), these large underwater plumes can travel great distance before slowly rising to the surface as they approach closer to the shorelines. It has been reported that there are literally hundreds of these oily/gas plumes which will begin to surface as “suddenly large oil slicks” coming towards or coastlines (probably first visible near/outside the Florida Keys) as the water becomes more shallow. This migration of hundreds of these large underwater plumes is probably the primary reason that “oil slicks are getting into the Loop Current”. We are way beyond that point right now.

The Navy Sonar can track these underwater plumes and report locations. Where is the data and why hasn’t any civil authorities been notified? Where is the funding to address these large oil slicks coming ashore? This is where a fleet of barges/super tankers needs to be immediately deployed as to the expected locations of these oil slicks as they start appearing on the surface.

Summary:

  1. Immediate recognition by Congress that this is a “National Emergency” on the scale of a nuclear weapon attack on the US and funding an appropriate “super response” – now! This spill is already totally destroying the Gulf of Mexico as we know it. It requires the formation of a “Super Governmental/Industry Tiger Team” to address and implement both the detonation of a nuclear weapon as well as the mitigation and clean-up of this spill by a fleet of Super Tankers with oily water separators totally outside of any response by BP to date. This problem has totally overwhelmed the limited responses of an oil company such as BP. BP should be totally removed from the scene the responsibility for clean-up belongs with the US Government in making a “WWII-Type Mobilization Response”. This may include mobilizing a fleet of barges being placed as the first “ring of defense” around main well area (perimeter may have to miles in length right now) followed by a fleet of super tankers to start storing/transporting oil and discharge permits granted to discharge the water. Somebody (appointed by Congress) needs to be in charge of the entire response with billions of funding in-place right now to start cutting purchase orders (there is not time for the usual Government Bid System to be effective in a timely manner) for a fleet of tankers and it is not BP.
  2. Mobilize a Super Tanker Fleet to start sucking up the large underwater oil plumes located at 3000 to 4000 feet under the sea. These plumes can be easily located by US Navy Sonar. Immediately find the real well head location – compare known GPS locations of where the Drilling Rig should have been drilling to the current GPS location of the BOP.
  3. Monitoring what BP is doing is useless at this point as an appropriate Government response and shows a complete lack of understanding from a systems engineering viewpoint of the magnitude of the crisis. The Red Flag in this crisis is going to be that “BP has delayed the heavy mud attempt to seal the well” or at the “Top Kill” will not work and the follow-up “junk shot did not work because this is probably a red herring and not the real location or cause of the massive oil spill.
  4. Immediately remove all Mines Mgmt personnel in Louisiana associated with any Gulf Coast platform reviews until and independent audits can be conducted of the all technical decisions and drilling permits issued in the past five years. Revoke all drilling permits issued by this office in past 24 months.
  5. BP has totally misrepresented the real nature of this oil spill to Congress. It is possible that the real wellhead outflow is 120,000+ bbls per day and located miles from the BOP location. Congress should immediately send the US Navy to locate the real wellhead location.
  6. The use of Corexit 9500 maybe 4X more toxic than oil. It could also be 10X to 20X more poisonous than other dispersants. It could undergo a phase transition to a gaseous state in the warm Gulf waters and result in some type of “toxic rain clouds” over the East Coast. The US Army developed the “best performing” absorbent by the US Corps of Engineers called Oil Sponge (a name trademarked by a company called Phase III and is 100% organic) and is made from renewable resources and there are other much safer dispersants. Oil Sponge is built using a microbial and nutrient package, capable of transforming oil hydrocarbons into a safe bi-product of carbon dioxide and water. There is also AmeriHaz Petroleum Solidifier that encapsulates environmental contaminants making crude oil and other oil like substances easy to retrieve. Both of these products have been ignored by BP and the Government in the clean-up of this fiasco. Why? Has BP trying to hide the magnitude of the spill – absolutely! Contact your Congressman immediately as to why BP has refused to stop the use of this dispersant! It is your grandkids lives that may depend on it.
  7. The enormous amounts of natural gas being injected underwater in the Gulf of Mexico from this blow-out contain the carcinogen benzene which is water soluble. It is classified by EPA as a carcinogen at levels of 1 ppm. Is anyone now testing the Gulf waters for benzene levels? Any oil clean-up personnel need to be wearing Hazmat suits. If the water or beach sand smells oily then they may be exposed to benzene levels 20X in excess of safe standards. Nobody needs to be sticking there finger into some oily product on the beaches. There are probably more than 52000 bbls per day of natural gas being released into the Gulf of Mexico which will cause a huge oxygen depletion zone and possible massive fish and shrimp kills.
  8. Dr Steven Wereley, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University, has testified before the House Energy and Environmental Committee that 95,000 barrels of oil are currently leaking into the Gulf of Mexico. BP would not have economically spudded this well unless it was flowing in excess of 65,000 barrels per day (and the real answer is closer to 120,000 barrels per day (50X times worse than BP/US Government stated at the outset).
  9. The Obama Administration needs to release EPA data on air quality at/near spill sites (both onshore and at the spill site). It is the responsibility of the Obama Administration to require workers to wear respirators. It is dangerous to go near large oil spills which have been sprayed with solvents like Corexit 9500 which the Natural Science Dept of Russia has stated is 4X more toxic than oil itself!? Tell your Congressman you wish to see data on air and water quality on daily basis.
  10. According to data from the University of South Florida, the massive oil spill has now entered the Atlantic Loop Current (starting to make its turn around the Southern tip of Florida and towards Miami) and maybe heading up the East Coast. I would expect large plumes of oil may start appearing in spots across the Panhandle and Florida beaches in next 30 to 45 days as these oil plumes gradually rise to the surface (one said to be over 22 miles long and 800+ feet deep!?!).

Bottom Line: We are looking at the worse environmental disaster in human history and it continues to grow and the US Government has failed totally in responding to this epic crisis because of BP and Big Oil political clout and money.

The light end of the oil will be absorbed into the atmospheric system and come down as a toxic chemical bath at some point in the future. Remember that 70% of the oil and natural gas is underwater and chemically destroying the Eastern part of the Gulf of Mexico. Everyone needs to contact their Congressman about mobilizing the National Guard for clean-up and start monitoring water and air quality. We need to get Congress to budget for a fleet of super tankers to start skimmers and remove BP totally from the scene. The US Navy needs to be mobilized to start identifying underwater oil plumes as well as all marine research organizations along the East Coast. The environmental impacts are almost incalculable at this point and everyone on the East Coast is going to be impacted in some manner in next ten years. Do not go near beaches where oil spills are occurring and do not touch any spilled oil with your bare hands. Wear a respirator if involved in any beach clean-up and make sure the benzene levels have been tested in all drinking and bath water.

The US Government needs to take total control with US Navy and mobilize a massive fleet of barges and super tankers with skimmers to start clean-up. We are going to need hundreds of miles of additional rubber boom and another 50,000 to 100,000 people in clean-up.

Everybody in Congress needs to be asking some very hard questions about what is really going on and find out why they have been massively misled on the real magnitude of this oil spill. We need to make sure we know the real source of the wellhead now.

In the end as much as we hate to – we may have to opt for using a “down-hole” nuclear weapon. If the relief well being drilled (not completed until August) does not stop this oil well blow-out expect a tactical nuclear option to be seriously considered in next 90 days. You may hear it is disguised as an “earthquake” some day in the Gulf of Mexico. This option needs to be structured for an immediate Congressional decision to stop the massive wellhead blow-out. You need to know the sub-sea salt topology in detail before exercising such an option.

I really believe the RIG pulling over in the sea was an indicator for UNCLE and the other EXPERTS, whomever they may be from what Foreign Land, that the BOP is installed on top of a male type adapter which fits inside the bottom of the BOP a specific distance sealing without a FLANGE tightened down with bolts and high pressure seals.  Such appears a accident waiting to happen to a Plumbing Contractor like putting down a commode with wax ring seal and not requiring the commode to be held down in place with bolts and  nuts.  Such will fail, leak and possibly fall over to one side or the other.

We asked Admiral Thad Allen and others to verify immediately that the BOP is indeed leaning over past TEN DEGREES OR MORE perhaps toward the BACK or toward where the RIG pulled the lines and caused the RIG Deepwater Horizon to tilt to the sea on one side flooding compartments and causing massive twisting and rotation with compartments filling with water uncontrollable with the SPIN that caused massive fractures in piping then allowed the RIG to sink on it’s side at the bottom of the Gulf.

One LEAK and DANGER not brought to the surface in conversations is the undeniable fact that Batteries and other items are leaking into the Sea Bed plus all FUEL or OIL onboard plus any dangerous chemicals are now leaking into the sea near the rig.   Since no effort was made with those 10 ROV’s sitting IDLE most days with LIGHTS to find the BODIES, no attempt has been made to hook up to the pipe on the bottom and clear the bottom of pipe and other articles so an inspection by ROV could be done of the Gulf Floor looking for those Bodies of the 11 men who died which may indeed be getting ready to surface or move as bloating and bacteria takes over making those bodies FLOATING AWAY shortly.  An ROV can confirm quickly from a distance the hatches are OPEN in major areas which would have guaranteed spin to the bottom like a ship filling with water in compartments hitting an iceberg.

You and I know that the ROV can clean off the special item on the BOP (AND THERE ARE THREE—One on base, One up side and one on top) which can be read IMMEDIATELY by any ROV showing the exact degree OFF of center and direction of lean.  My PERSONAL belief is that the BOP CAN BE RAISED OFF OF THE STUMP OR SEALING AREA MALE ADAPTER then before this is done then the CRANE #2 SHOULD HAVE A NEW BOP STANDING BYE JUST LESS THAN 10 FEET ABOVE THE SEA BED OFF TO ONE SIDE TO MOVE OVER INSTANTLY ONCE THE PRESENT BOP IS REMOVED AND MOVED OVER TO CLEAR THE WORK AREA.

Perhaps the RISER does NOT have another RISER lowered with the SPECS we gave for consideration consisting of a BLANK WATERPROOF RUBBERIZED SEAL OVER THE BOTTOM FLANGE WITH SHUTOFF IMMEDIATELY UP TOWARD SURFACE THEN ONLY FLOTATION PIPE USED TO STOP STRESS ON BOP NEW ONE which will have full flow of OIL AND GAS so keeping the MALE PROTRUDING CONNECTOR CLEAR WITH WATER HOSE IS A MUST AS TWO ROV’S CAN POSITION AND MOVE THE BOP OVER THE CONNECTION EVEN THOUGH IT WILL STILL BE STANDING UP.   Now my concern is the male adapter is BENT OVER the same degree then the special SUPPORT ON THE BOTTOM MIGHT NOT BE BENT BUT AGAIN ANOTHER CONNECTION WITH MALE PROTUSION TO BOTTOM OF BOP MIGHT BE CONSIDERED.

The KEY is using the sea water, NOT FANS pushing same with hand unit but FAN NOZZLE ON A LARGE FIRE HOSE PUSHING WATER CONTROLLED BY THE ROV TO PUSH OIL, GAS AND DIFFERENT ITEMS AWAY FROM THE WORK AREAS.   I find it odd that a small circular FAN is being used instead of water pressure to try to show Congress or anyone what is going on near the Top Hat 4 which is a JOKE ! The Admiral and others were shown the HORIZONTAL CUT  just above the nuts and bolts going up and down plus feed lines for connecting perhaps Hydraulic Pressure Lines as well as Mud/Cement lines NONE OF WHICH INCLUDING THE RISER WERE FLOTATION SUPPORTED FOR 5,000 FEET.  Imagine the weight involved of those 5,000 FEET not only on this RIG but on all other connections which number some 4,000 full of oil into the Gulf area itself.

My obvious concern about a massive leak caused by the BOP falling over, or any BOP falling over let alone failure of piping not FLOTATION without shutoffs and hydraulic lines without check valves keeping hydraulic fluid into lines, are well founded but for some reason the “Experts” do not seem to care about the leaking Oil, Gas, Dispersant Contamination or anything connected with it so long as the same “Experts” feel it is only necessary to attempt to drain off more oil and gas.   I am so very concerned about LIGHTNING DISASTERS to grounded ships, Rigs, Tankers, Undersea Connections when there appears NO LIGHTNING RODS CONNECTED AND GROUNDED TO THE  SEA BED AND EVERY SHIP OR BARGE TAKING ON OIL FROM ANY SOURCE MUST ALSO BE GROUNDED FOR LIGHTNING STRIKES !

The professional WARFARE TRAINING makes me concerned that Ships, Support Ships, RIGS and ROV CONTROL SHIPS must have sensors instead of CANARY IN A CAGE to sound the alarm if GAS, METHANE OR OTHERWISE IS RELEASED in clouds which could overcome everyone on the ship, barge, boat and anyone NEAR the bubbles coming up from the site or another leak fissure anywhere.  We asked for NOTICE TO AIRMAN AND NOTICE TO MARINERS to be provided keeping ships and aircraft clear due to the undeniable fact that the DP Mode engines ran away and froze up preventing any chance of holding position PLUS all engines reportedly went crazy freezing up and exploding onboard the Deepwater Horizon causing FIRES and shortening the ability of any protection let alone WATER SCREEN LIKE WATER WASHDOWN WITH SALT WATER which was not existent except on the Helicopter Pad.   Such should have been AUTOMATIC like wearing reflective Clothing and having special PULL BOTTLE INFLATABLE VESTS WITH REFLECTIVE TAPE allowing also manual blowing up of the vests on each and every man or woman onboard.   BASIC PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT which was sadly lacking, especially on work clothing which hampers finding those bodies on the Gulf Sea Bed….but it can be solved checking a 5 mile sweep of the bottom after removing piping and other items which should be underway 24/7.   ALL OF THAT SCENE IS A CRIME SCENE !

You and I both know from experience that GLOBS OF OIL even 1,000 FEET DEEP can be pulled to the surface using proper Submersible PUMPS inside perhaps STEEL FLEXIBLE PIPE or FLEXIBLE 21 INCH RISER PIPE INSIDE FLOTATION PIPE SEEN FROM GE where the OIL only would be collected and if the filter stopped due to jamming from a fish…the unit could be brought UP to the surface quickly and easily with the flexible PIPE plus motor being small and lines for power and control lashed to the small oil transfer pipe inside the riser pipe to the surface.    Adjusting for less than 1,000 feet is easy then we can tell them how to use special wide mouth skimmers with SUMP PUMPS like in lift stations pushing OIL AND WATER UP TO BARGES THEN SUPER TANKERS WITH MULTIPLE BARGES SHALLOW DRAFT TO BE USED NEAR SHORE AND MARSHES WITH AIR BOATS PERHAPS.   NO ONE CALLED TO ASK AS IT IS ALREADY IN A FEDERAL PDF SOMEWHERE FROM EPA ON HOW TO MAKE THEM AND EVEN THE CUTE ROLLER BARGES COLLECTING OIL FROM SEA WATER EFFICIENTLY….SUMP PUMPS CAN PUSH THE OIL NO DOUBT OVER 30 FEET AND 1000 FEET WITH SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS LIKE SPRINKERS GET WATER IN DEEP WELLS.    No one asked Branko !

I really admit FRUSTRATION TAKING OVER due to the “Experts” ignoring since 042310 until this VERY DATE the undeniable fact that the entire LEAK could have been STOPPED IN 8 HOURS FLAT !  Tony Hayward UNDER OATH before Congress just ADMITTED HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO STOP THE LEAK AT THIS POINT !  Such means no one is giving him the IDEAS which will work !

Our problem still exists….we have NO DOCTORATE, NO OIL RIG EXPERIENCE, NO OCEAN OIL RIG EXPERIENCE, NO OIL COLLECTION BP EXPERIENCE …… Sadly we didn’t have or need such qualifications for helping PEMEX in 1979 as the STUPID IDEA WORKED !          Today we both have known how to SOLVE THE LEAK IN 8 HORUS FLAT and watch in amazement as the “Experts” not only fail over and over but refuse to look at the PRECISE WAY TO STOP THE LEAK AND STILL RECOVER ALL OIL, GAS AND STOP THE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS BEING SPENT TO USE DISPERSANTS CONTAMINATING THE GULF AND ALSO STOP THE LEAK WHICH IS DESTROYING MY GULF, FLORIDA AND PERHAPS KILLING ALL DESAL PLANTS SOUTH AND EAST OF FLORIDA WHO USE DESALINATED WATER AS THEY MUST SHUT DOWN WHEN OIL IS IN THE SALT WATER.

Frustration mounts daily and truthfully YOU AND I KNOW THE LEAK CAN AND SHOULD BE STOPPED IN 8 HOURS FLAT as the BOP flange has a sealing surface but no one will get to CAMERON TO GET THE EXACT MEASUREMENTS FOR REASONS UNKNOWN.  Not even my PRESIDENT demands through the FBI, USCG, USN, BOY SCOUTS, GIRL SCOUTS OR MEDIA to get the measurements so a replacement BOP FLANGE can be manufactured, sleeve made with shutoff and weights, special flow thru 21 inch THICK WALL PIPE with flanges.    NO ONE CARES ?

I have seen with my own eyes the BOP is OFF CENTER and leaning.  Calling same to their attention is like talking to my CAT NAMED SADIE --- At least SHE says    M E O W !  These people say nothing but send messages from Horizon Support perhaps telling US to go to some site and give them all of the information, diagrams and instructions…..failing to tell WHAT MESSAGE THEY ARE REFERRING TO IN THE E-MAIL !  Cute !

If the BOP is leaning and about to fall down, then cut it off and push it to one side. Lower the “Friction Plug” ALL the way down to the well and block the pipe in the well! BP had the technology to drill and lower the pipes down to that depth so it must have the technology to lower the friction plug to the tip of the riser pipe and block it.

The problem is that we are not getting true information out of BP. Wee are only guessing,  when we suggest that this or that would be best because we do not have the correct information to work with. The public are not being given the information that they are entitled to have.

What is worrying is that something else is going on down there and the light orange plume, is indicative of an iron ore suspension. That light brown reddish colour, is not the colour of oil as it emerges out of riser pipes. It could be that they are pumping some kind of dispersant into the riser and that could confuse the issue but oil, as it hits the zero degrees temperature of the sea water , would globalise and form a solid mass. This could be collected.

Why they are pumping hundreds of thousands of gallons of toxic dispersants into the sea is difficult to grasp. Oil is toxic at 10ppm (parts per million) but the dispersant Coritex 9500 is four times more toxic and at only 2.61 ppm, it will poison the entire food chain it comes into contact with.  Much easier to collect solidified oil. How, are they going to separate the dispersant from to oil.

We are not being told the truth so it is difficult to put forward a good solution.

Not too many things scare me but that 8 story unit falling OVER or tilting with Hurricane Season arriving gets my attention in a sleepless way.

 

In that we felt all along the stress on the BOP top from uncontrolled disaster of the Rig caused it to be TILTING thus the contact with the sea bottom in the Gulf may be a danger and oddly running water through hoses from surface trained on the sea bed IF it is giving way will allow pushing SAND up under the frame areas causing a new seal with the sea bed which can possibly be pushed with water all around the base strengthening the BOP even 10 feet tall if necessary.  I use this same technique and you can pour cement under and around the base to make it solid if absolutely necessary…..the EXPERTS can take it up as the KILL lines are not used yet for gathering new OIL AND GAS from those TOP KILL and JUNK SHOT contact points so pushing cement is easy for propping up the BOP in this time of need to support the casing and perhaps save everything.

 

I am quite sure IF no one does anything that this unit is weakened and could very easily fall over on the sea bed pulling 8 stories of pipe which is not flotation pipe and the ship over to one side endangering everyone onboard.  NAVY EXPERIENCE TALKING !  NO SHUTOFFS, NO FLOTATION PIPE….HMMMMM ! Disaster TWO as there is nothing shown to shut down the flow from the BOP and send it to another vessel in a WYE ……. Hint !

 

Quite naturally we asked for these people to CHECK the BOP when the special part or bubble verification is there just near the flange and ANY ROV can look at same quickly confirming exactly HOW FAR it is off….Crane can attach and with ROV viewing BUBBLE set it back on course perhaps saving a tragedy.   Obviously some of the EXPERTS have no clue how to shut down the well if it falls over nor do they understand that CRANE can hook up to the BOP and make necessary changes within limits before the STORMS COME!

 

Wave movement anticipated will still allow Crane to correct FALL or hold it from falling and this is CRITICAL until the Friction Plug gets in position on the sea bottom even if stuck in the dirt or sand until pickup by crane needed.  Do look at the ANNUALAR section below 13 THOUSAND FEET for contact perhaps sealing just in case the strata makes those other areas go bonkers and the cement pour could seal more than one would believe in a flash.

When the Deepwater Horizon took on the GAS BELCH and destroyed all engines, including thrusters with a 5,000 foot tether to the BOP top while moving at Current Speeds to the end of the line, a strange pull was present jerking on the top of the BOP as the end of the run much like a coffee cup with a string in the center tied off on a table let then throwing the cup over the table until it fell over. Once the burning Rig with people now evacuated, except for the dead, lurched over in the water compartments filled with water, then the death spiral churning in a twisting motion then falling under the gulf waves toward the gulf floor.  Three separate riser damages were noticed underwater. One a shattering and bending of those riser lines at the top of the BOP, another after the riser lines hit the bottom of the Gulf and still another twisted shattering perhaps pointing toward the Rig lying on the bottom a few thousand feet away.

The force on the BOP which is standing tall 8 stories and X number of tons, remains unbelievable yet points to the bottom of the BOP having a male plug coming from the sea bed to match up quickly and precisely with a female housing to let the unbelievable weight push downward on the casing plus that male seal so that nothing could escape, air or oil, gas or air and water at any pressure under perhaps 300 TONS which the crane lowered to the bottom connection and could pull off the seal at any moment but one better have a new replacement similar attachment unit standing bye or hanging 6 feet or so off the sea bottom with another crane. Remember the waves will make the replacement go up and down so this is critical for ROV can push the new unit of 300 tons around to match up with the replacement as the weight pushing around would be negligible supported with the Crane.

IT COULD ALSO BE TRUE THAT THE CASING AND SECTIONS BELOW ARE DAMAGED OR BENT IF NOT DISLODGED FROM THAT STRESS PULL OR ESPECIALLY THE DEEPEST DRILL IN HISTORY INTO AN AREA UNKNOWN CAUSING MASSIVE FRACTURES IN THE STRATA WHICH COULD TAKE LEAKS SEVERAL MILES AWAY TO THE SEA BED SURFACE 5,000 FEET BELOW AND CAUSE FISSURES YOU DO NOT WANT TO THINK OF BUT CAN SEE ON THE SURFACE AS THE GAS WILL COME UP ALONG WITH OIL SLICKS MANKIND HAS NEVER SEEN IN THE PAST.

No one has mentioned “I took a level on a ROV down to the normally straight up sections of steel and it is LEANING 2 or 3 degrees if not 10 degrees indicating subsea damage to casing area below flanges” so perhaps a measurement is due on ALL BOP’sf along with inspections to see how many are using FLOTATION STRESS REDUCING RISERS AND WHAT THICKNESS OF WALL IN THE CASINGS TO RUST THROUGH IN 20 TO 30 YEARS.  

That is where the Branko R. Babic FRICTION PLUG comes into play as it must be say 20 inches inside diameter at perhaps 2000 feet with 7 inches at the tip inside the oil…..SO FIGURE THE DEPTH PIPE ID then make up a special machined round tip of solid steel say 14 inches round to 20 inches straight then insert same into the casing which will slow down flow of oil as pressure is released IF BOP PULLED OFF then having two choices….replace the BOP and hope the fissure does not crack more or the casing shift or be pulled up with the BOP but in case you have two things ready…..one a BOP….Two the Branko R. Babic Friction Plug.   IF the casing comes out with the BOP pulled then the only option is using the FRICTION PLUG to seal the well at 2000 feet by dropping the steel section down into the casing then pushing concrete immediately inside the casing and be darned sure you can DROP the friction plug removing the steel wires thus seal the casing fully with cement without steel wire coming up to the surface.

NOW FOR SOMETHING TRULY SAD.   We gave Horizon, Innovative Tech and others including the President the SOLUTION for the BOP RISER THREE LEAKS.  After all steel was cut away finally we suggested THEY Make up a STEEL BOP FLANGE ON LAND, MACHINE OUT THE SPECIAL SOLID STEEL THICK FLANGE WITH EXACT MEASUREMENTS FROM CAMERON, BE ABLE TO MAKE UP AND WELD THE RISER PIPE WITH WEIGHTS TO A SHUTOFF TO A FLANGE THEN SUPPORTED ON SHIP WOOD BLOCKS USED IN A DRY DOCK HAVE A WELDED BOTTOM FLANGE ATTACHED, PUMP AIR HIGH PRESSURE AND WATER PERHAPS COLORED INTO THE CHAMBER BELOW AND SEE IF THE UNIT HOLDS UNDER 10-30,000 PSI PRESSURE….THEN TAKE SAME CLEANED UP TO THE DEEPWATER HORIZON DISASTER AND PULL OFF THE TOP HAT 4 PLACING THE NEW AND IMPROVED TOP HAT 5 BRANKO MODEL SLEEVE UNIT WITH FULL FLOW PIPE TO SURFACE….IF UNABLE TO HANDLE THAT MUCH FLOW 21 INCHES ON ONE VESSEL….HAVE A WYE IN THE FLOTATION PIPE FLANGED UNITS TO TAKE THE FLOW SPLITTING SAME TO ANOTHER VESSEL.

KEEP IN MIND THAT YOUR DANGER IS LIGHTNING STRIKES SO ALL EFFORTS MUST BE MADE TO HAVE LIGHTNING RODS FROM TOP OF SHIP INSULATED THROUGH TO THE SEA BED IN NO LESS THAN SIX FEEDS FOR EACH SHIP WITH THE PIPE AND COLLARS SUPER PROTECTED LIKE YOU DO A GOVERNMENT BUILDING IN TAMPA SUCH AS THE FEDERAL COURTHOUSE !   FISH DO NOT NEED TO WORRY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GROUNDED BUT THE SHIP AND EQUIPMENT WOULD BE GROUNDED AS IF THEY WERE SITTING ON LAND ATTACHED TO STEEL GOING INTO THE SEA BED.    DANGER YOU FOUND OUT FROM A FIRE RECENTLY ON A LIGHTNING STRIKE……NO ONE THINK ABOUT THAT PROBLEM AS THE HURRICANE SEASON APPROACHES ALL GULF RIGS WITH SUPER LIGHTNING ABOUND ?

FINAL SUGGESTION.  Better have some means to move over the giant CONTAINER sitting on the bottom when the fissure lets forth a volcano of oil and gas as it may indeed blow out of control.  The true leak source may be miles away in strata so forget plugging same with cement or a plug. My earlier message was that perhaps this fissure was near the INITIAL OR FIRST DRILLING HOLE which caught a BIT OR AUGER AND RIG SECTION then was abandoned perhaps without even sealing with FRESH WATER CONCRETE.  BP should have reported the item left in the bore and abandonment should have ended the permit to get another.  Fissures after penetrating that deep with stress from the RIG pulling on BOP casing might be anticipated and IF MORE START THEN GET THOSE MOON LANDING TICKETS !

Right now Ruth and I have given you Professional ADVICE from years and years of experience civilian and military….which were apparently IGNORED while your message readers on the computers sent cute messages that WE HAVE RECEIVED THIS INFORMATION IN THE PAST AND IT WILL NOT WORK or something similar. Not easy to send solutions and the other experts keep oil flowing into the GULF and beyond on currents, making GLOBS down even 1000 feet or more without a clue how to bring them up to the surface and processing them into barges…..BARGES WHICH ARE SOMEWHERE BUT CERTAINLY NOT IN THE GULF !  

Our first message was about 042310 and the LAST MESSAGE will be TODAY WEDNESDAY JUNE 16, 2010 as the Experts are not concentrating on solving the LEAK or you would have done so easily by now as even BOY SCOUTS could make up a new flange to machine a sleeve over and seal the leak plus still recover oil and gas to the surface in ONE WEEK FLAT.   A BOY SCOUT would have read the BOP MANUAL FROM CAMERON and found all of the ways to SHUT DOWN THE BOP MANUALLY OR WITH OTHER PORTS FOR HYDRAULIC OIL SINCE YOUR LINES HAD NOT CHECK VALVES OR EVEN SIPHON OFF oil through those MUD AND TOP KILL PORTS to other ships on the surface even a mile or so away if necessary……NOT TO HAPPEN. 

Instead now we have a true NATIONAL DISASTER and anticipated months and months of oil leaking into the Gulf with insufficient skimmers, deepwater submersible pumps, lift station pumps and special designed APPROVED skimming and recovery roller material to pull the surface oil into barges and take for processing if not burning.  WELL OVER 59 days have been given to your emergency with no action from day one to stop the leaks using a variation of the JET SWET nor Branko R. Babic Counter Pressure Plug, Counter Pressure Plug with flow thru pipe, shutoff and flange or Counter Pressure Plug with flow thru pipe, flange , shutoff and more importantly MACHINED SLEEVE WITH WEIGHTS AND GIANT BOLTS TO HOLD AGAINST THE SECOND BOP FLANGE.   Nothing but leaks and excuse after excuse with no visible results.

Therefore,  SORRY WE BOTHERED THE EXPERTS, only the SECOND TIME WE BOTHERED EXPERTS IN A WELL RUNAWAY EMERGENCY…. FIRST IN 1979 WITH IXTOC 1…THEY LISTENED AND IT WORKED !

Second APRIL 23 THRU JULY 16 OF 2010 AND THEY SAY PEOPLE WERE LISTENING AND HAD RECEIVED SUGGESTIONS SIMILAR OR COULD NOT POSSIBLY WORK AS DECLARED BY THE EXPERTS….BUT REMEMBER THOSE SAME EXPERTS WHO TRIED WITH EL SOMBRERO TO SOLVE IXTOC 1 FAILED UNTIL THAT “FORCE LEAD INTO THE CASING” WAS TRIED AND SUCCEEDED.

as predicted, loss of hydraulic pressure will cause (is now)...resulting in distortion,

stress lines, balancing, re-balancing 'forces'.

If air is let out of a basketball...it will induce forces/stresses (fractal, chaotic, non-linear response in the earth)...

in the 'skin' of the basketball.   It then changes other paths, at those pressures, which force their way through.

In time area weakens, cracks (pathways for oil)...to seabed.  Over time....erosive 'water knife' action at those pressures.

as has already been speculated that there is damage to well-bore and casing damage...much lower...than what is obviously leaking above the cut flange / hex bolt assy on top of the BOP.

so, unfortunately....I believe the above is simple, and credible 'take' on what's happening down there....given, there is so little detail, context, overview...or any feed back on parallel efforts...and insights.   It's the combination of that *process* which discoveres fastest time to solution.  If they really want to solve it.

Pehaps this is all 'academically true'...but a moot point...if they have gone past point(s) of no return, or allowed it to go past point(s)-of-no-return.    That is strategic understanding; theatre awareness.

Proposed to BP and multiple media sources for over a month (link 1). - can not sleep watching this disaster take place, unabated while there are solutions.

Warning: As you may concur - We do not have time to wait for relief wells in August ( may be more like November and may not work) , by that time the Gulf will be a dead sea, Florida beaches and Everglades will be black (more like orange goo), oil/dispersant mix headed north to wipe out east coast killing all life in it's path. There will be stench of rotting animal life and toxic air which will promote respiratory disease and cancer. When there is a hurricane it will "paint" the inland with slime and goo which will then be unlivable - We most stop those responsible for exacerbating this unmitigated global disaster  NOW . God help us - amen .

1) – Stop Leak Now (SLN) Simplest Fix – Replace old flange (link 2) and broken (now cut) pipe at top of BOP – has (6) hex nuts with new flange & leak-less riser pipe to surface. This is similar proceedure to when well was first installed (2001). This could have been done after the smoke cleared (day 2) and this disaster avoided -It is unfathomable why this was not done. 

2) – Oil Collection Now - using newly designed Oil Containment Rings OCR’s – Stop  prior and future oil disaster. 

3) – Seal Well Now (SWN) – drill +1000' parallel proximity shaft – place proper amount of explosives – seal new shaft – detonate !  Conventional explosive should be adequate to blow bedrock through a 21" shaft - how about tunnels through mountains or Hover Dam !  Suggested nuclear explosion is absolutely ludicrous and at least 1000 times overkill . This could fracture the seabed floor collapsing into oil reserve and releasing 25,000 square miles of oil.

The MAJOR problem RIGHT THIS MOMENT IN AMERICA FOR THIS NATIONAL DISASTER IN THE GULF OF MEXICO is Cameron CEO, and Ruth Rogers cannot get him to budge, will NOT release full measurements  of that 2001 BOP with flanges possibly made in China.  Remember that two ROV’s can take a ladies 60 inch tape used for INSEAM MEASUREMENTS COLOR YELLOW WITH BLACK INCHES MEASUREMENTS down to the well and POSSIBLY MEASURE CLOSE ENOUGH THE FLANGE MACHINED SURFACE in order for a MACHINED SLEEVE to be connected with BOLTS through the slightly larger SECOND FLANGE area to HOLD IN POSITION while it sits down on the flange with special SEAL attached inside or external made of special material used in the LARGE BACKFLOW ASSEMBLY FLANGE JOININGS….high pressure 15,000 PSI SOFT seal.  The precise dimensions or measurements are critical for perfect fit.  But the U.S. Secret Service and Federal Bureau Of Investigation have apparently NOT KNOCKED ON THE DOOR !

Wait and see if the workers contaminated clothing and plastic bags of oil and tar plus sand and dirt are put in landfills in violation of Federal and State LAW causing deaths and contamination all over the GULF AND ISLANDS TO THE SOUTH AND EAST….then you will see SUPER SUITS WORTH TRILLIONS !  All because no one would seriously look at ideas from two old people which work like clockwork and cost perhaps $20,000.00 to stop leaks.  NOW WE HAVE A NATIONAL DISASTER WITH OVER $750 MILLION SPENT !

Second request was made today and earlier to use the TOP KILL and JUNK SHOT type connectors used for mud/cement to TAKE OFF OIL AND GAS to another ship or ships making the flow slower with less pressure to the top of the BOP as the TWO 6 inch lines on MUD lines would allow pressure to be released quickly then the TOP HAT 4 could be raised up to get the measurements on the FLANGE needed to bring down a TOP HAT 5 FULL BORE 21 INCH FLOW TO SURFACE SHIPS WITH SHUTOFF AND PERFECT SEAL would also allow, with proper weights that that sucker would STOP LEAKING.  Keep in mind these Branko R. Babic INVENTIONS WERE GIVEN perhaps several days if less than a week after April 20 Explosion.  Even as a Plumbing Contractor WE KNOW how to stop the leaks, get fuel and gas up from 5,000 feet using super rubber annulars pulled tight with washers against the inside wall of the 21 inch riser .812 inch thick areas but FIRST you have to CUT THE PIPE SO YOU GET A ROUND AREA.

As far as the BOP TOP RISER is concerned one must HOLD BACK PRESSURE ON THE CUT AREA THEN SHEAR CUT FROM TOP….then move crane over dropping the long section of pipe then come back, hook up the crane, take the pressure OFF the riser clamping on to same with a crane then cut first across the BACK OF THE RISER then make a cut down near the flange allowing a 1 foot pipe thick wall inserted with 12 inches washer beveled to put force on riser internal pipe to crush it to flange…then above that have weights to keep it in place, shutoff valve and flange to go to surface risers which MUST be flotation……. S T U P I D   I D E A   perhaps but it would work and stop all leaks.  My initial idea was to have a short super thick sleeve go over the riser to stop splitting the riser pipe but a short cut into the area above that flange would have done the same thing……NO MULTIPLE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR CLEANUPS….all leak would have been stopped.

Another STUPID IDEA was making up the BRANKO R. BABIC COUNTER PRESSURE PLUG AND WITH WEIGHTS FORCING SAME DOWN ONTO RISER INTO THE FLANGE SEAL BUT THAT WOULD HAVE SHUT DOWN THE WELL  ------ UNLESS THE TOP KILL AND MUD KILL AREAS WERE USED TO DRAW OIL, GAS AND WATER TO THE SURFACE SHIPS UNTIL STUDIES COULD BE MADE OF LIFTING THE BOP OFF THE MALE SECTION, MOVING IT OVER ON THE SEA BED THEN BEFORE SUCH MOVE ANOTHER BOP WOULD BE IN PLACE TO SET DOWN ON THE EXISTING MALE PROTRUSION SECTION FITTING INTO THE FEMALS SECTION OF THE BOP LIKE BEFORE…….NEW BOP…….. S T U P I D   I D E A    AS NO ONE REMEMBERED ABOUT USING WATER HOSES FROM SURFACE TO BLOW WATER SCREENS OR WATER FLOW SO THE NEW BOP SEAL COULD BE VISIBLE AND SECOND SHIP WITH CRANE HAVING NEW REPLACEMENT BOP ON BOTTOM COULD SEAL THE AREA AND GUESS WHAT…..THAT ONE WOULD WORK !

Again.   Too many EXPERTS is like  “TOO MANY CHIEF’S AND NOT ENOUGH INDIANS FOR A WAR OUT WEST” Indians LOOSE

The FIFTY YEARS spent working was not in a classroom getting a DOCTORATE ON STUPIDITY……those Municipal and County Water  AND Sewer workers have solved such problems many times when the EXPERTS WITH THE DEGREES were still trying to stay awake in offices thinking of a solution.   We have done that in the past !    My concern will always be that those 8 story items are STRAIGHT UP ON THE SEA BED rather than lying down on I beams with casings going into shutoff valves with tees and straight thru section goes into a tee then has a flat plate with bored risers with shutoff and connections to make mud or cement go down into casing shaft under pressure with the Horizontal Run of the TEE attached to another Shutoff then to the bottom of the BOP lying down…then out of the top of the BOP is a 90 degree flanged ell then a shutoff up toward surface with connection female flange for riser 21 inches……that would allow changing the BOP shutting down two shutoff’s and unhooking bolts and nuts for two flanges….maybe ONE QUARTER TURN release with bolts stopping release.   CHANGED THE BOP….EASY !  USE MUD LINES TO PULL OFF GAS, OIL into 21 INCH RISERS UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO TURN ON THE BOP AND TAKE IT OFF THE TOP SECTION.   STUPID IDEAS !

USE THE TEE APPROACH AND IF NECESSARY DUE TO BLOW OUT…..GET A BRANKO R. BABIC FRICTION PLUG….OPEN THE FLANGE THRU SECTION OF TEE, OPEN THE SHUTOFF, WITH THE SHUTOFF OPEN TO CASING THEN LET THE BRANKO R. BABIC FRICTION PLUG BE RELEASED TO GO DOWN INTO SAY 1,000 FEET OF PIPE TO WEDGE AGAINST WALL AND PUMP OUT THE SALT WATER AND OIL THEN FILL THE CAVITY WITH FRESH WATER FULL CEMENT AND FORGET THE WELL UNTIL THE CASING ROTTED THROUGH FROM THE SALT WATER YEARS LATER THEN BE DEAD AND LET THE GRANDCHILDREN HAVE A WAY TO PUT SPECIFIC TYPES OF STAINLESS STEEL PIPE WHICH WILL NOT DETERIORATE DOWN FOR CASINGS IN THE FUTURE…..WORRYING ABOUT 4,000 OTHER RIGS WHICH MAY BLOW SOON !

Get the picture.   Solve the leaks in 8 hours starting 042610 when warned 042310 OR spend $750 MILLION DOLLARS trying to clean up 65 MILLION GALLONS OF OIL SPILLED ON THE GULF COAST…….let me see…….. $20,000.00 and four days for four spill areas…….OR    SPEND $750 MILLION AND CONTAMINATE THE ENTIRE GULF COAST AND ALL ISLANDS SOUTH AND EAST……MAYBE EVEN EUROPE IF WE CANNOT STOP THE LEAKS BECAUSE WE WILL NOT GET THE MEASUREMENTS AND SHUT IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY………TOUGH DECISIONS FOR BP ……….WHEN USCG/USN/NAVY SEABEES AND CONTRACTORS GET IT SHUT DOWN LEAKING AND DRAW OFF THE OIL….THE DAMAGE WILL BE THERE FOR 50 YEARS OR MORE….FOR OUR GRANDCHILDREN OR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN OF THEIRS TO REALLY DEAL WITH IN THE LATE 2100’S WHEN ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE BECAUSE NO ONE REMEMBERED STEEL RUSTS FROM OUTSIDE IN SALT WATER……ships with holes in plates much thicker sitting in mothball fleets should have told BP something!

Just another STUPID DECORATED AMERICAN VETERAN with a second STUPID IDEA FOR THE WELL OWNER’S WHO WERE INVOLVED IN IXTOC 1 PERHAPS in 1979 !   Thank GOD PEMEX LISTENED!   WHO GAVE BP A PERMIT FOR SUCH A DEEP WELL OR DID THEY ?

Chief Electrician Mike Williams on 60 Minutes said the permitted area started drilling and LOST A RISER AND DRILL then the Deepwater Horizon moved over to another location to DRILL and this one went super deep through many thousands of feet into the OIL….was that depth authorized and did BP report the failed UNSEALED DRILLING POINT mentioned by this Chief Electrician ?

First:   The idea and attachment showing THERMATE or THERMITE possibly setting off lead to melt over an explosive gas is NOT something we would recommend and in that it came from a man in Russia who in good faith is hoping to get an idea through even with Oceaneering contacts I do hope you will understand the THOUGHT is there.

I have attached the latest PDF file sent today for review as it is critical that someone look at taking OFF the flow pressure drawing oil, gas and water from the TOP KILL or JUNK SHOT CONNECTIONS used for MUD then installing the correct TOP HAT with sleeve sealing on the UNKNOWN measurements of the BOP FLANGE UPPER SECTION.   I tried to get Cameron Ruth Rogers to give me two things for review…. First the BOP MANUAL IN PDF IF POSSIBLE, Second. The exact measurements of the BOP.  Since no one would ASK or JOIN ME IN MAKING THE REQUEST the CEO for Cameron possibly put it in a garbage can or DELETED the request from an old man.

Second:

Someone is REALLY STUPID forgetting that Oil 1 gallon kills 250,000 gallons of water.  Putting contaminated clothing and sand/dirt from cleanup into plastic bags then putting same in a landfill as FIVE have been identified by Waste Management is AGAINST FEDERAL AND STATE LAW FOR FLORIDA and could kill years ahead by destroying the water sources LET ALONE STOP ALL DESAL EFFORTS IN THE ISLANDS TO MY SOUTH AND EAST OF FLORIDA !    What a brilliant IDEA…. JUST BURY IT !    Gee…. Who thought of that one !   IT MUST BE BURNED AND SAND PLUS DIRT RECOVERED BUT ALL MUST GO ON CONVEYORS AND BE BURNED…..NOT BURIED !   I noticed in 1979 that PEMEX didn’t ignore one old man’s idea from Tampa General Hospital to force lead into IXTOC 1.

My duty as a State of Florida Certified Plumbing Contractor is to share experience whether welding or plumbing, military or civilian in any NATIONAL EMERGENCY.  Our recommendations indicated clearly this mess could have been solved in 8 hours FLAT using hydraulic Pressure sealing pipe sections and inserting even a JET SWET type annualar which would seal against the interior of 21 inch pipe with a .812 side wall allowing 18 inches flow to the surface.  Instead of cutting the pipe the experts from BP decided to use the 6 inch STRAW technique.  THEIR CALL….WRONG BUT THEIR CALL.   Next came the Hydraulic SHEARS cutting blade on the BOTTTOM OF STRESSED PIPE….MISTAKE….THEIR MISTAKE.   Finally using circular TOOTHED SAWS cutting from bottom and sides on stressed pipe…..MISTAKE….THEIR MISTAKE.   Next we watched the cut just above flange bolts on right side with diamond cutter perhaps 50 inches across cutting on stressed side and getting jammed…..MISTAKE…THEIR MISTAKE.

Finally we watched in UTTER DISBELIEF the insertion of a TOP HAT 4 which was never set up to capture the DIAMOND CUT nor the RISER BENT as it was not cut flush just above the nuts and bolts of the flange NOR did the TOP HAT 4 set down perfect seal over the TOP FLANGE as no one knows the exact measurements of what may have been made in CHINA and hell….no two ROV’s could work together taking a 5 FOOT FLEXIBLE LADIES MEASURING TAPE TO THE BOTTOM, PULLING IT AROUND AND VIEWING THE MEASUREMENTS TO GIVE YOU A ROUGH IDEA TO SEAL AROUND THAT PERFECTLY CUT AND CLEAN SURFACE OF MAYBE 3 INCHES ON THE TOP OF THE BOP FLANGE.    Thus MISTAKE….THEIR MISTAKE…..NO ONE CALLED CAMERON…NO ONE CALLED BRANKO R. BABIC VIA SKYPE OR TELEPHONE….NOR DID ANYONE CALL “RALPHWHITLEYSR”  ON SKYPE OR LANDLINE….SO YOU ARE STILL THERE IN MISTAKE MODE.      Remember how stupid ideas solve MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF MISTAKES !   You have spent BP some $750 MILLION when you could have spent $20,000.00 solved the problem temporarily saving the GULF and SAVING FLORIDA AND ALL ISLANDS SOUTH AND EAST perhaps with that $20,000.00 BRANKO R. BABIC FLOW THRU PIPE, SHUTOFF, WEIGHT AND FLANGE ON TOP OF THE BOP SEALING WITH A SIMPLE MACHINED SLEEVE THICK WALL WITH BOLTS as recommended. !

Choice is YOURS BP.  At least until Admiral Thad Allen gets permission to bring in the USCG, USN SEABEES and other municipal and County utility people who knew on the first 4 days how to solve the leaks….all three but it sounded so very STUPID to some who are trying to figure out how to tie their shoes Right to Left or Left to Right.   What will it COST in the LONG RUN ????? BILLIONS when you only had to spend some $20,000.00  but the EXPERTS never went to a welding shop then into a POOL to check the models to see if those two OLD PEOPLE WERE CORRECT !      Silly Huh?  So was the FORCE LEAD INTO THE CASING PEMEX IDEA IN 1979 !

Now read the THERMITE EXPLOSION METHOD and understand IXTOC 1 went into a blowtorch mode which could happen here. 

LOOK AT THE REMOVAL OF THE BOP SETTING IT ASIDE AFTER YOU GET ANOTHER ONE ON A BARGE STANDING BYE TO BE DIRECTED OVER THAT MALE SEAL AREA ON THE BOTTOM.  USE HIGH PRESSURE WATER TO BLOW OUT THE CASING AND FLANGE AREA TO BE SURE THEY DID NOT SECURE SAME WITH BOLTS…..THEN MAYBE THE OLD BOP COULD BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH ANOTHER WITH WATER PRESSURE FROM HIGH PRESSURE HOSES BLOWING AWAY THE EDGE OF THE MALE ADAPTER SO THE FEMALE ADAPTER AND CRANE CAN LOWER THE NEW BOP OVER AND MAKE A PERFECT FIT….THEN CONTROL TO THE BOP TOP FLANGE WITH SHUTOFF PLACED ON BEFORE LOWERING CAN ATTACH TO THE NEW FLANGE FEMALE AND CHECK VALVES WITH HYDRAULIC OIL TO SURFACE SHIP THEN BRING IN THE DP MODE VESSEL TO TAKE OVER PERHAPS OR STOP THE WELL WITH THE BRANKO R. BABIC FRICTION PLUG SET DOWN IN THE CASING FROM THE BOTTOM SEALING IT FOREVER THEN PUT IN PLENTY OF CEMENT MIXED WITH FRESH WATER AND DO TELL AMERICA HOW LONG BEFORE THE SEA EATS THROUGH THE OUTER WALLS AND CAUSES EVERYTHING TO BLOW OUT AND DESTROY AMERICA….SO WE CAN GET SPACE ON THE MOON !

Thank you Sir living in Russia for eventually this could happen ON YOUR SOIL or IN YOUR WATERS.  Thank you as one Human to another Human trying to save our Planet from some EXPERTS AND GREED !   I still will look into SOLAR POWER later at 70 years old. My thoughts of running a vehicle using WATER FOR GAS techniques is getting more appealing as is living on a super high mountain somewhere because those fumes are heavier than air with 4,000 potential problems sitting in the GULF alone !
